City of Foley operations except for health-related and emergency services will remain closed Tuesday, Sept. 15 and Wednesday, Sept. 16, due to conditions from Hurricane Sally. The hurricane is expected to make landfall on Wednesday morning. Officials stress that historic flooding is the biggest threat from this system. Residents and visitors are strongly encouraged to stay off the roads on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Currently, the sanitation schedule is set as follows:
Tuesday and Wednesday garbage will be picked up on Thursday, Sept. 17.
Thursday and some Friday routes will be picked up on Friday, Sept. 18.
Remaining Friday routes will be picked up on Saturday, Sept. 19.
No recycling will be picked up until Monday, Sept. 21.
The Planning Commission meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 17 has been cancelled.
The Foley Municipal Court will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 16 and 17.
